With the warmer seasons quickly approaching, we are now pulling together content for our debut issue of Snow-Capped Press Magazine. In every issue, we would like to include at least one column, essay, or article. As long as it has something to do with writing, it will be considered. At this time, we are unable to pay for guest content. This is something we hope to incorporate by the second or third issue. It is for this reason we are not doing an open call for fiction this issue. The only reason we are even posting this particular open call is because it can be used for important issues, such as the lack of deaf characters in fiction (for example). Some writers are willing to contribute essays on an important issue for its exposure. Again, we are looking to start paying later this year for guest content as money comes into the office. At this time, please understand everything is being done on our own dime and time. We are even offering free advertising for this debut issue. More details on that open call are located here.
Send your submissions to contact@aidenmerchant.com with the subject line SCP COLUMN SUB. If you forget to include this subject line, your submission may not be seen! Columns can be anywhere from 300 to 900 words. In your e-mail, please include your name, a short bio, and any applicable links to your social profiles or content. The deadline will be April 1st. We hope to release this debut issue by June. From there, we are looking at every two months.
The physical edition of our magazine will not be in stores. However, it will be available for purchase online. More details will come as we have them. With this being our debut, several formats will be test printed and considered.
